If you stay tapped into the mobile space, you’ve probably heard of Mobile World Congress. This global conference hosts events all across the world that attract more than 60,000 visitors, and coming up, we’re lucky enough to have Mobile World Congress Americas (MWCA) happening in the U.S.
On September 12-14 in Los Angeles, mobile experts, enthusiasts, and newbies will gather to see the latest mobile technologies and learn how to implement them in their companies.
This Year’s Theme
Every year, MWCA has several themes so that attendees can dive deep into whatever area of mobile they’re most interested in. This year, there are five themes.
Innovation: Obviously, innovation is key in moving forward with mobile technology. Sessions under this theme will show what brands are doing to create new products and services in the mobile space.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution: We are in what has been coined the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and it involves complex automated functions we never could have dreamed of in the past. Find out what to expect in the future.
Everything Policy: Privacy and security are, of course, on all of our minds as we dive deeper into reliance on mobile devices. This theme will look into how the government and mobile industry are working together to provide both for consumers and business users.
Media & Entertainment: As we change how we consume content (now it’s happening on multiple devices, often at the same time), brands need to understand how to create, distribute, and monetize content.
The Network: This theme gets into the technical details of different networks, from 5G and LTE to SDN, NFV, core network infrastructure, and more.

Explore How Redbox Leverages RCS at Google’s Innovation City Booth
Plan to stop by Google’s Innovation City booth, where we’ll be demoing how our customer Redbox leverages Google’s Early Access Program for Rich Communication Services (RCS). The demo includes Redbox’s location finder service, allows you to browse movies and games, reserve online and select preferences for personalized messaging. Google has been working with the mobile industry to upgrade the SMS experience with rich features like gifs, location sharing, and more. Vibes is proud to be there from the start as a partner supporting RCS through our mobile marketing platform.
RCS allows brands to engage their mobile subscribers in more innovative ways than SMS. Here are a few reasons we’re so excited about this new service:
Your full brand name appears as the sender of messages
You can leverage one-click calls to action
You get robust data on clicks and open times
We fully expect RCS to be one of the buzzwords at Mobile World Congress Americas, and look forward to sessions like RCS Business Messaging – The Future of Brand Communications. If you’re at MWCA, please stop by so you can see for yourself how game-changing RCS is!
Why Should I Attend Mobile World Congress Americas?
Beyond the fact that there will be more than 200 speakers on all things mobile, there are ample other reasons to attend.
You’ll be inspired by the innovative technologies out there, which can lead you to brainstorm your own inventions or give you ideas on how to implement them in your company. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with senior level executives (59% of attendees are senior level), building new partnerships over just a few days. And because you can customize your experience based on the themes that are most relevant to your brand, you can zero in on what’s most important to taking your brand to the next level with mobile.
We hope to see you at this pivotal mobile conference!
